Second City has informed me that we will no longer be able to use their rooms for our meetings as they informed me: “Our third-party reservations system is moving to be primarily for Second City students and 3rd party theatre-related rehearsals.”
Our executive board members have been working hard to find a permanent space for future meetings. If anyone has any suggestions, please email us.
In the meantime, our regularly scheduled meeting which would have been on May 5th has been pushed back to Saturday, May 12th simply because there was no room availability on May 5th. Mel Dermody will be our speaker, and he has graciously offered his conference room to hold the May 12th meeting. His presentation will be on hearing loss, best practices, prevention, treatment and much more. Mel Dermody is a lifelong wearer and now works as a hearing specialist and fits the best technology on the market today. A free hearing test can be offered on-site after the presentation.
Also, Marcie Sacks-Botto will be doing chair yoga practice, so wear some comfy clothes!!!
Lastly, we will be doing our elections for new board members, so if you are interested in running for President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Social Chair, or Walk4Hearing Chair, this is your opportunity!
Location:
The meeting will be at Hearing World, 1136 South Delano Court, Suite B201, Chicago. It is off the Roosevelt stop on the Red and Orange line about 3 blocks west, just past Target and Loft. There is underground parking that is free for the first 90 minutes with validation. I have parked in the light green section labeled C and then take the escalator up outside and walk across the street to 1136! Take elevator up to the 2nd floor and it will be the offices to your left called Regus. There are plenty of restaurants in the area as well:)

6-6:30 p.m. Social Time
6:30 p.m. Guest speakers
8 p.m. Head out for dinner at a local restaurant and more fun times!

CART captioning and Phonak assistive listening devices will be available.
We have been so grateful for Second City, but we look forward to a new venue 🙂
