Simply put, we share a common desire to make the most of our hearing loss. We are a diverse group; we wear hearing aids, cochlear implants, we sign fluently, a little bit, and not at all. We are always welcoming new people, so come join us!
Our resources are always advancing with much to learn. Check here for useful news and informational articles that pertain to hearing loss. If you come across a “must-read” article, then please feel free to share it with us!
We get together for social gatherings about as often as we do for chapter meetings. We are always welcoming new people. Check our calendar for upcoming events!
Effective communication is key to success. We seek to be open about our hearing loss for this purpose, and to do so with confidence makes all the difference. We know the stigma is losing its grip and we seek to be contributors of that.
HLAA is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization that encourages the solicitation and acceptance of gifts for purposes that will help HLAA achieve its mission. Your support matters.

Chapter Meetings
Our chapter meetings, held virtually during the pandemic (in the Chicago/Lincoln Park area pre-pandemic) cover the technological and psychological aspects of hearing loss, as well as the vast resources available to us.
