Buddy Program

Our chapter has established a Buddy Program in which we would like to pair up new members and existing members. Ideally, we’d like to pair members that are of similar age, location, and hearing device type (hearing aids or cochlear implant). 

We understand that it’s never fun to be the newbie of a group, or maybe you’ve attended an event of ours in the past but haven’t connected with us in awhile, either way, if you would like, we can pair you up with an existing member of our chapter. 

For the existing members, do you remember being a new member of HLAA and knowing few, if anyone at chapter meetings and events? Let’s change that with this Buddy Program. 

Once we have a member that would like a chapter buddy, we will pair them up with an existing member who is most similar to them (age, location, and hearing device type) and someone who can answer questions about our chapter/HLAA and introduce them to other chapter members. 

Our chapter meeting and event attendees come from all over the city and far suburbs of Chicago. We wear hearing aids, cochlear implants, we sign fluently, a little bit, and not at all. Simply put, we share a common desire to make the most of our hearing loss.
